Biography:
Captain UK, also known as Captain Britain of Earth-238, is a Marvel Comics character whose real name is Elsie Crumb. She debuted in Marvel Superheroes #388 in 1982.
Elsie was a laboratory assistant at a research facility when she was chosen by Merlyn and Roma to become Captain Britain, receiving her powers and Union Jack themed costume from them. Her world was drastically different from other Captain Britains, having a more punk and dystopian atmosphere. She policed her reality under the guidance of S.T.R.I.K.E. (Special Tactical Reserve for Interdimensional Key Events).
Captain UK gained superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, and reflexes, as well as the ability to fly. She also possessed a force field.
Sadly, Captain UK's tenure was short-lived. Mad Jim Jaspers warped Earth-238 into a twisted reflection of itself, and she was ultimately killed by The Fury, a cyborg designed to kill all who wielded the Captain Britain powers. Her death had a significant impact on Brian Braddock, the Captain Britain of Earth-616.
